Jon Walkup is a writer, director, comedian, and actor dedicated to comedic and emotive storytelling with a taste for the absurd. His short film Stuff was an official selection of the Warner Bros. Short Film Showcase in 2018, where he won runner-up. His work includes the original web series Jon and Ken, which was featured on Funny or Die. Jon’s work as a director also includes several music videos. Of these, That’s Cute by Asher Roth debuted on the front page of XXL.com. 

In 2019, Jon was selected to participate in the Academy Gold Program talent & inclusion initiative through the Academy Awards. Through the Gold Program, Jon was paired with his current mentor Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Benjamin Button).

Recently, Jon directed and co-wrote his first independent feature, a dark comedy titled Big Fun, which is due out in 2023.

Jon graduated from Columbia College Hollywood with a degree in screenwriting. At the end of his senior year, he was awarded Best in Show and Best Narrative for his co-directed/co-written short film Nobody’s Looking.
